Party Participation
(from the Lineage2.com Community forums)
Tankers, healers, and damage dealers are only three people in the group leveling experience.
Puller
This player “pulls” mobs for the group to kill, bringing them in one mob at a time or the most they can handle for bigger exp. The puller is different from the tanker in that he doesn't inspire hate in mobs. Usually, he just gets within the mob's Agro radius, close enough for them to detect him, then runs back towing the monsters to the tanker and his party. The Lure skill possessed by Treasure Hunters and Plainswalkers also comes in handy.
Buffer
The buffer provides support magic, such as increasing any of his groupmates' stats, especially attack and defense, for effectiveness in combat. Sometimes, the buffer is the same character as the healer, although it is much preferred that he isn't so that he won't lose MP quickly. Common buffers include Prophets, Swordsingers, Bladedancers, and subclasses of the Orc Shaman.
Crowd Controller
This character controls mob behavior with spells or special abilities so that the group is not hit by every mob in an area. The most effective methods are Sleep, Dryad Root (temporarily disables movement), Stun, Anchor (paralysis), and Veil (blurs the enemy's sight to disable preemptive attacks. Healers and damage dealers can serve double purpose as crowd controllers.
Recharger
This player helps the group conserve mana by giving them to members who need it most, thereby making them more time-efficient in battle. This will give them more controllability since party savers/crowd controllers will have mana for handling critical situations. Elven healer and buffer classes can also function as rechargers, ie., Elven Oracle and Elder, and Shillien Oracle and Elder.
